Such is the expertise of Creative Learning Partnership Trust that Staffordshire authorities handed them the responsibility of opening a second brand new primary school in the space of two years. While floor plans and material specs were similar to that of Beaconfields it was imperative that this new facility at Burleyfields took on its own unique identity; cue our ‘Sycamore Leyf’ icon.

Communication, participation and considered direction is all part and parcel of easing nursery and reception pupils into education. Elements we wanted to give visual and verbal reference to as little steps are taken through the corridors and classrooms. By creating an environment that inspires the little ones it also shows parents that the bigger ones not only talk the talk, but confidently walk the walk too.

When it comes to relationships between clients and designers, those that bear more fruit are the ones where creativity is considered an investment rather than an expense, where the opportunity for unique emotional engagement outweighs a mundane ‘me-too’ formulaic function. The relationship we have with Creative Learning Partnership Trust flourishes due to Actual Intelligence rather than the ‘artificial’ kind. We believe there’s a lot to learn from that.
